Cards of Courage

Wise Words for the Future. For New Blood 2019, D&AD New Blood’s Cards of Courage have been designed to help ward off creative crises, summon inspiration and banish block.

Launched at New Blood Festival 2019, with the intention to persist outside of the programme cycle, this deck of cards, produced by Ellen Ling, are packed with wise words for the future, for the future’s next creatives. Contributors include Erik Kessels, Top Girl Studio, Supermundane, Craig Oldham, Snask and Charlie Craggs.

Meant as a meaningful take-away from the festival and beyond, the pack design ties in with the creative for D&AD New Blood 2019, with it’s own unique twist of eye-popping pantone colour and beautiful tactile stock from GF Smith.

Split into suites, the cards have their own POS display unit, with cut out to reveal the full pack design, and had an activation at the festival itself.

Well received at festival, the packs created a buzz on Instagram and appeared in Creative Review.
